YEMANES'

Peckham is pretty much on the other side of the planet, but now you find yourself here, far from all that you know, weary from days, weeks, months of travel, unsure if you'll ever see home again. You've crossed the mighty Thames, weathered great storms, and survived dysentery. How long have you been travelling? You've been underground and overground, national rail and rail replacement, little lime bike and big red bus. There are wrinkles on your face you didn't have when you left home, bright eyed, dreaming of adventure. You've grown old. Will you ever make it home? You have a son; remember him? When you see him—if you ever see him again—will you still recognise him?

In any case, you could probably do with some falafel, and there's no better place than YEMANES' to raise your spirits for the long journey back to North London. Five stars.
